Aretha Franklin to release the first album in eight years

Aretha Franklin has announced his first album in eight years. With his mystery "solved" illness, 69 year-old revealed that she independently publish Aretha: A Woman Falling Out of Love next week.

This is the third time publishes a folder called Aretha Franklin. But unlike albums self-titled 1961, 1981 and 1986, it is made available through the singer, Aretha Records label, and it produces itself most of it. Despite reports that she worked with R. Kelly, the only other aid of production comes from son of Franklin, Kecalf and Eddie. "It will certainly take baby boomers back", she said last month, but it is also contemporary. ?

Album of the 38th of Franklin is a welcome surprise after almost a year of health panic. She was forced to cancel a series of concerts of last year, though, that he did not appoint his illness, the singer has been reported to suffer from cancer of the pancreas. "The problem was resolved," she claimed in January, after having undergone an operation.

Aretha: A woman Falling Out of Love will be released on May 3. For its first month, the album will be available only through retailer U.S. Wal-Mart; June 3, it will be available through digital services and other stores. The album contains modern standards and familiar classics, including the theme from a Summer Place, anthem gospel his eye is on the Sparrow and a version of BB King Sweet Sixteen. The bonus is a live recording of Franklin at the presidential inauguration of Barack Obama in 2009, singing My Country, ' Tis of Thee.

"Ladies, look the picture of me on this album," said Franklin. "This is how you are supposed to watch when you're a woman in love". Not sitting on the phone waiting for him to call you, girlfriend. I want that you listen very closely to the lyrics of the songs from this album and you'll hear some good advice. Go out and have a ball! ?

Last studio album by Franklin, so Damn happy in 2003, reached No. 33 on the U.S. charts.

Raphael Saadiq - review

Raphael Saadiq Performs At Shepherds Bush Empire In London'Of a soul revue 60': Raphael Saadiq to Shepherd Bush Empire. Photography: Andy Sheppard/Redferns

Dressed sharply human finger-alignment on stage on tour with the Prince in adolescence, became a pop star in the United States in his twenties, produced a handful of records classic in his thirties and is now settle smoothly in its role of courteous soul-pop of copyright. Raphael Saadiq is on the edge of the stage, surround his ear for more applause; He shakes hands with the first row, twice; It has same Bagatelle mobile phone of a person and fiddles with it, every inch of the star.

Saadiq is not exactly a household name in the United Kingdom, but his last records - Pierre Rollin album ' of the last month and its predecessor, The Way of 2008 I see It - the Crown a Zelig-like rich career in the pleasures of vintage rhythm and blues. It is the kind of guy who can out Stevie Wonder of the bed at the heart of the night to fix a track in the studio. Last great gig of the Saadiq before this tour led the band to the Grammy in February, when Mick Jagger made his tribute Solomon Burke. Brandishing his guitar, the exuberant Saadiq delineated more undeferentially about Jagger the same before the scene as well as to say, "this is my music buddy".

This evening, Saadiq leads a strong seven outfit that could have been lifted a soul revue 60 - men in berets-, armed in the white go-go boots and corresponding hairband Chorister of tunes that all sound as forgotten classics. What is Saadiq "hope you mean, of course hope you love me girl," sang doo-woppishly. It is the temptation? No, it's just a return of flame, "Ensuring Hope You mean It" from her latest album, a recording steeped in Motown and Philly soul.

"Don 't mess with my man, Don' t mess with my boy," raising the Saadiq Go - Go girl. This looks like another canonical work, but it is the eye-catching and unique insured by the former group of Saadiq, Lucy Pearl. "Don't Mess With My Man" made in the top 20 UK in 2000, and she is greeted with a roar of recognition. The gig is bookended by two episodes of "staying in Love", knock-down, standout followed by The Way I see it, a fabulous song on how it is easy to fall in love, and how tricky it is in this way remain.

It could almost be a metaphor Saadiq set tonight. The vintage of the works of Saadiq authenticity is never in question. Its laid-back sound is therefore very easy to fall. Saadiq is a master of the art, tending the flame of the vintage soul diligently well until it was fashionable to do so. Back to Black Amy Winehouse (2006), opened the doors on retro, the Saadiq born in Oakland, based on the had already been at it for years. Its late 80 certified R & B group, Tony! Toni! Tone!, star of real instruments and a feeling of song and dance of survival. Saadiq then to lend to various clients its expertise in the 1990s, culminating in troubled charming neo-soul of Angelo, who released two albums classic and then plunged in darkness drug-related. Saadiq co-author "Untitled from Angelo (How Does It Feel)", which won a Grammy Award in 2001. Saadiq tells the, he cheekily reason in the studio to cadge a spliff out Angelo, eventually penning minimal masterpiece of neo - soul.

In a two hour show, however, the Saadiq implacable perkiness may flatline a little. nostalgia a-embellished so may seem a bit trivial. Pierre Rolline - latest album of the Saadiq - offers up to take a black pop and Rock 'n' roll, which is the next logical place for the revivalist Saadiq go. But the Beatles-y "Radio" feels light, as a less interesting "Hey Ya OutKast's" rediffusion. You yearn for a bit of the mischief that Saadiq displayed to the Grammy. It is the eve of the royal marriage, and it can sometimes feel like we are witnessing the marriage tips band on Earth.

And then, suddenly, a switch is fired, and Saadiq all comes alive once more. "Good Man" is one of the outstanding tracks of the new album, a meditation on lost love and allowing including excellent video, includes incidentally, Cutty of The Wire. The drama tonight is only slightly compromised by an extended guitar solo which attempt to invoke the Prince does not succeed.

Saadiq returns to the still a man changed. He has swapped her wedding band for jeans, a red t-shirt, a hat natty threads and more Stone irresistible Rollin on the dark side. "over you" is a fantastic psychedelic soul track. Everything ends with "Go to Hell", a rousing music in which Marvin Gaye trades large loom. It puts naked a few of the internal workings of a man whose smoothness feel otherwise a little plastic.

Hometown: Great Malvern, Worcestershire.

Background: Sometimes people complain that it not enough characters in pop more but we have the choice for the column of today. There were Birdy, the grandniece of 14 years of Dirk Bogarde, whose version of Skinny Love of Bon Iver has caused quite a stir last month. Or we could have gone to Alice Gold, the peppered pop rocker who teaches English in a foreign prince to get a recording contract. Finally, we opted for Jemma Pixie Hixon, Malvern Mermaid including performances of his own songs and versions of chart hits, recorded in his bedroom in his parents with a webcam, have had a massive 2.3 million YouTube views. She became a household name, the Japan and China even if it never leaves his house to the fact that she suffers from agoraphobia.

There are concerns about the period in which she has been confined to the House. Some reports have suggested that it is two years. During this time, a Web site, we may have considered creepy had not been in place by the young man of 20 years itself, its services for a career as a model for advertising separate and accompanied by a photo of him in his underwearsays that "for the past eight years, that I was suffering with a disease called agoraphobia seriously." It is an anxiety disorder, often precipitated by the fear of having a panic attack in a context where there is no easy way to escape. The victim becomes confined to his home. "I want to make clear to people that I am 100% confined at home."

Jemma Pixie is that Lady Gaga have like out there: Alexandra Burke. And suddenly, you start to re-evaluate his performances on YouTube. You start to look for clues in his State, even if you know that they are red herrings because they are not his compositions. But she chose them, and it has done for a reason. His interpretation of the anthem of Rihanna/Eminem all consumers claustrophobic love, for example, love the way in which you lie, is cold in the back.

There is something strangely serene on performance, something strange on his maquillaged face, as if it were a mannequin that has learned to embrace emotions and human characteristics. As something of the fable of children on a beautiful Princess trapped in a castle. If there is a time more disturbing this year than when this Disney-ishly perfect doll-girl with the beginning vocal butter would not to catch his breath on choking, and then delivers the line "if she tries never foutus leave again I' my to tie to bed and set fire to the House."We have yet to hear. It is powerful and poignant and perhaps even belongs in the canon of "hauntological", albeit probably for the wrong reasons. Essentially, if you're not moved his desire - "I want to be healed and lead a normal life." I think that one day, I will have the courage to leave the House and produce on stage "-you're Tyler, the creator and we are pleased to make your acquaintance."

J. Lo: Love? -review

In recent years J - Lo s been busy emoting radiant (as a judge on American Idol) and childbearing flourishing (magazine People paid 6 m $ "to" its twin in the world), but it ends its hiatus registration of four years with a load of turbo-product bangers. "Lambada" - sampling "On the Floor" - a huge pop building built on the House, Latin, and techno - is a particular triumph. The only thing hindering dancefloor abandonment is the hilarity of the words of the record: "Don ' T you want me to your baby?" She sings on "Good Hit" before failing to emphasize its ability of reproduction with this non-sequitur rappe: "Bracelet Cartier with my Prada bag."

How Beyoncé tell you to eat your Greens

When the UK tried to seriously healthy eating recently it is dough figurines clay speak of sausages in Northern accents. America, seems, is a step ahead. And several dance stages to come, too. Here is Beyonce in a school canteen, reworking Get Me Bodied with a new video to encourage children to start their Twizzlers of the Turkey in the air and shake their stuff for a little R & B and dancehall.

At least this is what Michelle Obama of hope - the track is part of's Let's Move campaign, which has been thrilling us conservatives.

It is brilliant - and perhaps more exciting than official single of Beyonce, run the world (girls), the video for which we expect yet - we will just ignore the fact that you try this in your own school canteen were you would get bollocked handsomely.

The charity made his debut for Beyoncé single God Bless USA

Beyonce KnowlesPatriot claims... Beyonce first God Bless USA on Piers Morgan EC evening. Photography: Kevin Mazur/WireImage.

Beyonce releases her second new single in as many weeks, following run the world (girls) with the new runway of charity God bless the USA.

Peturbed fans by the "difficult" race of the world (girls) character is likely reassured by the patriotic-ballad, she has done on CNN show Piers Morgan last night (Thursday, 5 May). The former Chief Editor of Daily Mirror announced via Twitter: "If you don't get tears at the end of @ PiersTonight and the world first God Bless of Beyonce USA, you are probably not here.".

God Bless USA was written originally released in 1984 by country musician Lee Greenwood and played at the Congress of this year, the Republican party. His popularity increased after the terrorist attacks of 11 September, and it has been reissued after the invasion of the Iraq in 2003. Version of Beyonce will raise funds for the New York Police and fire and children benefit widows. The singer recorded the origin of the track in 2008 presidential campaign of Obama, but never released. It appears that the death of Osama bin Laden Monday has been the spur for this version.

God bless the USA certainly contrasts with intervention last of Beyonce in the Affairs of the country, when she joined the first anti-obesity campaign Lady Michelle Obama, Move Your Body.

R. Kelly - review

R Kelly review - live at Hammersmith Apollo, LondonTerrible tease... Kelly r. spreads love at the Hammersmith Apollo, London. Photography: Christie Goodwin/Redferns

This is more than a decade that R. Kelly, King's self-proclaimed of R & B, passed through London last - time enough for his original fans to have grown up and has remained faithful despite the charges of child pornography (which he was acquitted), who has spent six years paw spawn a path in the Court. Fans embedded Lycra and bling of packaging on the first of the two dates UK have one thing in common: rose coloured glasses that transform a speed average 44 years with a small paunch in a prince among men.

"I was just simply too afraid to get on a plane", he said, to explain the gap of 12 years since he last spread the love to the United Kingdom. How did he overcome his fear of flying? Realizing that British women "deserve to see Kells, too." It is therefore here, sipping a cognac and give it what they want. "When you leave my room, you are going to be walking bow-legged," he sings, and they howl. "" "". If you want to return to my hotel, holler, "he suggests, and they duly holler." You can only wonder how room service will face.

Her self-confidence priapic is so complete it is 75 minutes from half - sung songs he gets rarely below a verse and a chorus before going on to day - an absurdly entertaining ensemble. His confidence is the result of a talent that positions him as the Burt Bacharach of R & B: he is a producer and screenwriter masterful, and the point of view of the works which pop melodies and funk rhythms are not opposing forms. The dozen hits he revisits this evening, if retro reek such that when a woman loves (from her new album Love Letter) or as Fiesta and ignition club bangers, incorporate melody and beats in a way that will still be appreciated a decade from nowWhile I Believe I Can Fly treacly ballads is guaranteed years of life as a song for the hearing of American Idol.

The latter requires as much energy to the belt that Kelly has to sit. Until that time, his endurance has been remarkable: he is an artist who rarely move constantly and frequently fires on the flights of a cappella, improvisation, which is of such a company sweat it breaks off the coast of clothing layers. But he is in fine voice tonight, and as a scarf, jacket and sunglasses are discarded side he did not miss a note.

Kelly is a terrible tease and never made good on his promise of all-back-to-mine: after a version bubbling people happy, he left the scene without a Word and the lights turn on. But for a show which is foreplay, it is not bad.

Booker T. Jones - The Road From MemphisMusician Booker t. Jones is a true legend that has identified as the leader of the Group of Booker t. and the MGS. But a less known fact is that he has also recorded four solo albums, including his last, the road to Memphis, who came out to the United States may 10, 2011. New music: Rihanna feat Britney Spears - S & M

A few days earlier, Rihanna asked its million of Twitter followers that they would like to work with. Apparently, most of them replied "britney Spears" and now, through the wonder of crowd sourcing and probably a few label negotiations high power, we have a remix of Rihanna current unique S & M featuring a whole new section sung by Britney Spears. Britney verse operates where his recent Femme Fatale album left off, all laced insinuations lyrics and a bit uncomfortable (in all variants of this word) imaging: "it's your turn to hurt me / if I am wrong I docking / shut up."", gag and bound me." Considering that the original has been edited to remove any mention of "strings" and "whips", it is unclear if anyone rely on this version played on the radio. Also, it would be difficult for Rihanna to continue the assertion that the song talks about what that else that sado-masochist sex, unless that "feel the pain on your skin" is on the tattoo and "just a night full of sin" is watching EastEnders all make it too the chocolate cookies.

Beyoncé sued for 100 m $ by the developer of video games

Beyonce Knowles in ParisEnd of the game... Beyonce Knowles is facing prosecution for withdraw from project Starpower. Photography: Marc Piasecki/FilmMagic.

A developer of video games U.S. continues Beyonce for more than $100 m (£ 61 m), stating that it "destroyed [his] activities... on a whim". Five gate LLC alleges the singer "unscrupulous" scuttled plans for a game called Starpower: Beyonce, forcing the company to return 70 employees the week before Christmas.

Under a subpoena filed on Tuesday in New York (April), Beyonce associated with five door in June 2010, accepting its image as a "non-profit joint venture" licence. The company claims that it has invested 7 m $ in the video game Starpower, which would have left players along with Beyonce tunes dance such as Crazy in Love. But while Beyonce "had already negotiated compensation lavish terms", the singer apparently changed his mind in mid-December, at a "crucial moment in the development of the software. The door of five lawyers allege Beyonce "make exorbitant demand for entirely new terms of compensation." It fled its funder, Beyonce "withdraw", and the project collapsed.

It was, documents of the Court to declare, "a violation of the bad faith of the contract so insensitive that on what appeared to be a whim, she destroyed Gate five of the company and led to 70 people in unemployment". Founder "Christmas week, she said that it is, I don't want to hear from you guys, go further," Grey Easley told New York magazine. Five gate supports the father of Beyonce-both his manager - "gave up" his behaviour allegedly Scrooge-like.

Door of five promises more unpleasant details are to come, but "us had much rather make a game of litigate", Easley said. Beyonce did not yet respond to the allegations.

This is all a little Ibiza Dance Party, we have decided.

Then, last week another article in the Guardian concluded that a large part R & B and pop sounds days as the scrap of one of those who, now, that is what I call Rave Vol 1 collections, drenched euphoria keyboards trancey. That is all very well if you loved that sound in the first place, but if you ignored this part of the R & B continuum and is went directly from Jam & Lewis and Teddy Riley of Timbaland and Neptune, you will not enjoy the current glut of things.

If us or UK, Usher or axis homegrown Taio Cruz/Talay Riley, R & B of today - or rave'b or whatever you want call - has a sound thick, ill, sticky, dominated by the song of saccharin Auto-Tuned and synth sugar-rich layers. The overall effect is to make soundtracks in question as if they were soaked in something sticky and listen like wading in molasses.

What happens even in grime - Invincible featuring Kelly Rowland of Tinie Tempah confirmed the link between grime, R & B and rave. And now here are Loick Essien, another English singer whose music applies a blur the border between these genera as well as ragga - just in case where you thought that the mulchification complete and total chart music had not yet been achieved. He began as a child star of video clips, including OK of Big Wessun before spotted by MTV Select presenter "Not funny" Blackwood Richard, who invited him to co-present the show for 11 years. Review: Raphael Saadiq - Pierre Rollin '

Raphael Saadiq - Stone RollinIn 2008, singer-producer-musician?Raphael saadiq captured lightning in a bottle with his brilliant album of songs inspired by Motown, the way I see it. But when word leaked that his next album, Pierre Rollin ', would return even more later in time to the music of the 1950s and early Gogo, an obvious question arose: could lightning twice? And the answer is Yes. Pierre Rollin ', out to the United States on May 10, 2010 is another brilliant album of brand new retro-Soul songs by Mr. Saadiq. And then would not has the element of surprise on her side as in the way which I see he did, the album deserves all the pre-release attention. Pop music has reached a point where its most successful young women are shooting whipped cream (Katy Perry) and Fireworks (Lady Gaga) out of their arms.

Video Rihanna is an extreme portrait of a particular vision of female sexuality that permeates pop young women artists provide a misleading impression of autonomous, feminist organization. they are aggressively marketed as role models and trend setters, and yet the fantasies they will play on the screen are manufactured. Some studies, including a report of the American Psychological Association, 2007, found the output more scorching of the only pop mainstream was an insidious effect on young consumers and can be directly related with "three of the most common mental health problems diagnosed in girls and women - disorders of the alimentationfaible believes self-esteem" and depression "." Youth, female pop stars and machines behind them, have a responsibility to their audience?

Absolutely, says Diane Levin, a university based in the United States and author of So Sexy, so little time. Levin is not a fan of the S & M video. "It promotes what I call"disorder of compassion deficit"." That is, it deals with individuals as dehumanized objects, and sex and sexual behaviour outside the context of a caring human relationship - undermining the Foundation children need to grow up to have healthy relationships or sex. ?

Peter Robinson, editor of Popjustice, disagrees. "Employment is not a pop star to keep the children in the country", he said. "Parents should know - and control if necessary - that use children, and as guards, the media have responsibility for content filter so that you may not be Lady Gaga firing a machine gun of her vagina in the middle of in the garden of night." Truly offensive thing on S & M was annoying how it was. It was a song designed to push the boundaries of a really annoying way. ?

However, Dodai Stewart, editor in Chief Assistant of United States pop culture blog Jezebel, points out that female artists are systematically encouraged to capitalize on their sexuality. "Women artists are conclusively sexualised more often, which allows to sell albums, but they are also criticized for having been so sexual." Women cannot earn. "There is also a contrast between what is happening in the video by R & B male and female and acts of hip-hop. In the first case, you may see female role models semi-dressed cavorting around the artist. In the latter case, the artist will be the semi-dressed: there is no sign of male models walking on their bare buttocks in camera. The same thing happens far, videos, as Stewart points out: "Rihanna was on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, and the focal point was his behind.". "Jay - Z has been photographed for same publication wearing a suit and tie".

Hometown: Kentish Town.

Background: The company that allows New York could be the tire for you. You are or will be encouraged by the fact that she is friend with N-Dubz, sings on the album and recently supported their tour... or you're not. Then, you could be more pleased to learn that she worked with producer Davinche, has collaborated with Professor Green, Tinchy Stryder and streets, sings the choruses with Plan B and was the guest star on the top of the affected Ironik 5 stay with me. The collaboration of the latter was in 2008 and it is still only 22. In addition, she managed to adapt in a live-in girlfriend small passage from the Wiley.

It is super-connected: it has even received Giggs Rapper on his debut only be with you, while Kirk Norcross the only way club manager is Essex is in the video. A view. The music that it is - and we are not be snobby here because you should see where we live - totally adapted to discotheques of belt suburb of London, of Biba in Bromley, Oceana to Watford and liquid at Romford. "Classy" and "top of range" soul with a veneer of sophistication chav but just enough echoes of grime and dubstep that it could be marketed in this crowd as well. RWD magazine crowned its first lady of R & G - is not surprising that garage-y ballads and commercial urban pop with singing as heavy on the melisma, as can be expected of a girl high on Mariah, Aretha and lyrics on the fighting and the survivors must speak to the Cheryl Cole demographic.

It is an interesting character, Ny. A strict vegetarian, she was educated at home by his mother until the age of 10 years and writes poetry growing. Apparently, these days that it is a "lot of philanthropy and mentoring of the work, especially with the disadvantaged children. In a way, it is more interesting than his music, which is quite generic, while slickly produced and performed. Or at least it is now. What we have heard of its two mixtapes, schizoides impulses are undertaken. In fact, Splitz Endz Vol 2 cover, there is a photo of it on one side with a ballgown, and on the other hand, it is the head to toe in sportswear budget: half smooth soulstress, half Lady Sov. One of the songs, what I see, even includes the melody of seven army Nation White Stripes, played on what sounds like a synth-kazoo. We are guessing that it will focus on the urban classification fodder, however. Which, even at its most brilliant, you can say is not American, it loan a rudimentary charm. Think that Rihanna is routed on the PA to the Lidl.

Buzz: Fiercely independent and incredibly driven - famemagazine.co.uk.

The truth: She obtained the formula, she obtained the formula.

The least likely of: Date Joey Essex.

Jennifer Hudson: I remember me - review

If an of R & B/soul diva must overcome the tragedy, Jennifer Hudson is well on its way. A summary of its progress so far is sure to mention the murder of his mother, his sister, his nephew in 2008, eclipsing that Grammy (for his debut in 2008) and Oscar (for the movie Dreamgirls; his next role is Winnie Mandela). Huskier than most, thrums voice of Hudson with a richness that eludes a large portion of its competition (Beyonce, say). That said, the songs from his second album do not require lots of it, and even the title song struggles to be sufficiently poignant.
